Meet the Team

Meet your Barnsley Counsellors

At Reflective Development Counselling Space (RDCS), your counsellors are Chris Sanders and Rosanna Duggan, co‑founders who combine professional training with rich lived experience of mental health challenges and frontline care.

Together, they offer person‑centred counselling in Barnsley for adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, and overwhelming stress.

Their shared commitment is to create a safe, non‑judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel genuinely understood, and work at your own pace towards meaningful, lasting change.

Chris Sanders - Co-Founder and Counsellor

Chris is a person‑centred counsellor and co‑founder of RDCS, offering counselling in Barnsley to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

After serving ten years in an infantry regiment, Chris returned to civilian life with PTSD and faced years of alcohol addiction and homelessness, followed later by a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

These experiences gave him deep insight into trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, isolation, and what it feels like to be on the edge of support systems.

Chris combines his lived experience with professional training to offer grounded, compassionate counselling where clients feel safe to explore even the most difficult parts of their story.

His work with RDCS is driven by a clear purpose: to ensure that people in Barnsley who are struggling can access counselling that is authentic, respectful, and genuinely life‑changing.

Rosanna Duggan - Co-Founder and Counsellor

Rosanna is a person‑centred counsellor and co‑founder of RDCS, providing counselling in Barnsley for adults who want to better understand their emotions, relationships, and mental health.

Her interest in how the mind works and how emotions shape our lives began early, and at 19 she started working in a psychiatric in‑patient unit, gaining intensive frontline experience.

Over six years, she worked across hospitals, supported living, rehabilitation, and substance misuse services, seeing first‑hand how vital human connection and consistent support are in recovery.

Alongside this work, she trained in therapeutic counselling, developing a style that is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s uniqueness.

Rosanna believes there is no “one size fits all” in mental health and tailors counselling to the individual, helping clients in Barnsley feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
