GOVERNANCE & CIC MODEL
Community Interest Company Status
Reflective Development Counselling Space is registered as a Community Interest Company, meaning we operate on a not‑for‑profit basis for the benefit of the community.
Instead of distributing profits to shareholders, we commit to reinvesting surplus back into counselling provision, staff welfare, placements, and community outreach in Barnsley and the surrounding area.
How We Use Surplus
Any surplus generated by RDCS is used to:
-
Provide fair, sustainable wages for our staff and associates
-
Fund low‑cost or free counselling places for people who cannot afford fees
-
Enhance our counselling spaces and therapeutic resources
-
Support student placements and high‑quality supervision
-
Expand our outreach, workshops, and community engagement projects
This model ensures that when you choose RDCS for counselling in Barnsley, you are also contributing to wider community mental health and wellbeing.
Board and Partnerships
We are appointing volunteer board members who bring a range of skills and experience, including lived experience, business knowledge, and mental health expertise.
RDCS is building relationships with local GPs, health services, colleges, and community organisations to create a more joined‑up approach to counselling and mental health support in Barnsley.
